In-app ticket sales beyond expectations

This year we have integrated ticket sales into our event app for the Sziget Festival – and the results are astonishing!

The organizers were very surprised to learn that a lot more tickets were sold than expected. The tickets were bought by potential visitors who downloaded the app weeks before the start of festival and have chosen this option to secure their places.

COG Drenthe’s success

Last week, four schools in the Netherlands started to use our apps to improve their student communications. The apps got such a good reception that a local newspaper has even written an article on how it help schools to connect with students and parents.

Many schools struggle with communicating the latest news and events of the institute to their students. The Mobilessence Student Communications Platform eliminates this problem by offering a mobile application for students and parents to stay informed, and a content management system for the school’s staff to administer the content appearing in the app.

Our Festival and Event apps in 2013

Just like last year, here is a summary on the tweaks and new features our festival apps got. We are happy to say that more and more events are making the decision to use our platform, besides almost all the major festivals in Hungary we have partnered with numerous European and American events.

Whereas we only had to make minor improvements in 2012, this year our apps got a new look as lots of new components were added – let’s see what these are!

The main news page and subpages got a new menu on the bottom (a TabBar) and a circular icon is displayed on right side of the event descriptions. All other subpages were modified to harmonize with this new design.

How Universities can profit from a mobile app?

A few months ago, due to a high volume of requests from Dutch educational institutes, we expanded our mobile event platform to include university events. Universities conduct Open Days regularly and until now have relied on distributing printed guides/handouts as a means of engaging attendees. Can you really satisfy the needs/wants of today’s University enrollees without the use of technology and interaction? What archaic message are we sending to tomorrow’s leaders?

Festival winners are using Mobilessence apps

The best European music festivals, artists and promoters of 2012 were announced in Groningen, where the annual European Festival Awards took place yesterday. Before the event, a record number of 1 million fans casted their votes online, showing that the festival industry is going strong in 2013.

2012 Festival Apps with the Mobilessence App Platform

This year has been the first season when the applications for events like festivals, conferences, open days and program guides in Hungary as well as abroad have been made entirely using the Mobilessence App Platform. For the festivals we have used our newly developed festival module. The palette of domestic festivals will be almost entirely covered with our platform this year; an official application will be made for VOLT, Heineken Balaton Sound, Sziget, Hegyalja, Fezen and SZIN festivals. Although we create the apps also for various other events and festivals abroad, this post is devoted solely to the Hungarian applications and their new functions.
